The 5 WooCommerce Plugins Your Store MUST Have

  • 5 min read

If you're looking to supercharge your WooCommerce site, the best way to do that is by utilizing powerful WooCommerce plugins.

WooCommerce is a great platform all on its own. We’ve been using it to build clients’ websites for years and not just because the price of WooCommerce is impossible to beat.

It’s also because WooCommerce’s library of plugins is almost unrivaled. But you’ll never see your WooCommerce site’s full potential if you don’t use plugins to get there.

5 WooCommerce Plugins That Will Skyrocket Your Profits

TheWooCommerce marketplace is absolutely packed with options for plugins that will immediately improve your store’s performance.

However, if you don’t have weeks to consider each and every one of them, I’ve put together a list of my five favorite WooCommerce plugins. They’re five we recommend to every single client regardless of their industry because they’ll optimize your entire conversion funnel.

1. Dominate Checkout to…Dominate…Your Checkout

One of the first areas we always look to optimize when working with WooCommerce is the checkout flow.

That’s because WooCommerce's checkout page is notoriously bad. So, if you haven’t already optimized your site’s checkout page, this is a great way to easily increase your eCommerce conversion rate.

The nice thing is that it's super easy and free to optimize your checkout utilizing theDominate WooCommerce checkout extension. It not only optimizes your site’s checkout experience for both mobile and desktop users, but it also adds a ton of functionality to your store's checkout page. Its long list of features includes:

  •        Address Validation
  •        Subscriptions
  •        Fraud Protection
  •        Support for Different Languages

The Dominate Checkout extension also integrates with over 120 different payment providers and more than 100 different currencies, so there’s no reason to turn down business.

Since Dominate Checkout is completely free and easy to install, there's absolutely no reason to settle for the default checkout that comes with WooCommerce. This is simply a no-brainer.

2. Yoast forJust AboutEverything SEO

The second plugin that we're going to cover is another absolute no-brainer for a WooCommerce or WordPress site.

That’s because Yoast is one of the most popular SEO extensions in the world and for good reason.

It makes it as easy as possible to optimize your site so that it ranks well in Google. This includes recommendations for title tags, keyword density, site schema, and much more.

Yoast even includes automating boring-but-essential aspects of SEO like real canonical URLs, meta tags, and other things that you’ll otherwise need to spend hours and hours on to optimize.

But don’t take my recommendation for it. You can also look over the 27,000+ reviews Yoast has received over the years with an average rating of 4.8 stars.

This is definitely one of the most trusted plugins for WooCommerce. I recommend budgeting for the premium version for only $89 a year for the most advanced features, but if you don't want to cough up the funds for that, there is a free option that also has a ton of features, as well. So, you really have no excuse not to use this powerful extension for your WooCommerce store.

3. Yotpo for an Outstanding Customer Experience

The next plugin I recommend for your WooCommerce store isYotpo.

We add this to almost all of our clients’ sites as it's a huge enhancement to the customer experience. Yotpo started off in the eCommerce space focusing on product reviews and even if they only offered this one feature, I would still be recommending them.

That’s because writing product descriptions that sell means including actual customer reviews. Yotpo doesn’t just make it easy to display these valuable reviews on your site and other spots (like Google). This WooCommerce plugin will actually help you get them, too.

Outside of reviews, Yotpo offers some other really great features, too, like a loyalty and referral program, customer segmentation, SMS marketing, and user-generated content that you can add to your WooCommerce site.

Honestly, I could easily dedicate an entire blog post to any one of these features, but if you would like us to do a deeper dive into Yotpo, please contact us and we can set up a time to talk.

Yotpo is another WooCommerce plugin that has a free version. This is kind of a teaser version of their software in order to get you bumped up to their paid version, but I still recommend checking it out if you’re not 100% sold on it yet.

Alright, so once you have customers coming to your site and spending money, you might think you’ve “made it.” What else is there to do?

The answer?

Email marketing.

And an absolute essential for doing that is my next recommendation.

4. MailChimp for High ROI Email Marketing Campaigns

I love Mailchimp for running email campaigns. They completely crush email marketing for eCommerce stores.

Their user interface is super intuitive and easy to use, so you can quickly set up all your regular email flows like the kind you’ll use to recover abandoned carts, welcome new subscribers, issue holiday and other promotions, and much more.

Just as important, Mailchimp will help you measure the success of these kinds of email campaigns.

Obviously, email marketing is still huge for eCommerce companies. So, if you need help managing your campaigns by sending out regular emails and reporting on results, that's something we can definitely help you with. Feel free to hit us up and our team can handle all the details for you.

Mailchimp also does a lot more than just support email campaigns. It has other tools for important tasks like retargeting, social media management, email sign-up forms, and a lot more.

This is another tool that's a Swiss army knife you can add to your WooCommerce store that will add a ton of functionality to your eCommerce storefront.

5. Elementor for Code-Free Store Building

For the last plugin recommendation is another heavy hitter. It has over 5000 reviews and an average of 4.8 stars; this extension is called Elementor.

This is a very amazing website builder that you can add to your WooCommerce store.

You can change and implement designs on your WooCommerce storefront without having to touch any code.

Of course, I’d still highly recommend utilizing a designer to plan out your site and your user flow. If you have a designer on your team, Elementor is great for implementing designs without having to go to a developer and have more flexibility to implement these directly on their end.

This is another plugin that has a free version that you can play around with, but for some of the more advanced features, you'll want to pay for their pro version. At only $49 a year, it's well worth it.
