We are so sorry, but unfortunately our extension Out of Stock Notification is only for Magento 1. If you are interesting in releasing this extension for Magento 2, you can post your feature request here: https://www.iwdagency.com/extensions/magento-out-of-stock-notification.html#ces-requests.

We have installed this extension which works great as guest customers don't need to login before entering their details, is there a possibility that SMS text messages could use this same function or can this be added?

Hi, we're thinking about purchasing this tool. We are not manually changing the stock of our products. We use an API for that. Will the 'back in stock' notification be sent to subscribers, even though we don't manually change the stock?

Hi Yuri, The extension tracks the inventory updates made in the usual way for Magento. However, if you are using some third-party plugin to manage inventory you can set up automatic inventory validation. In this case the extension will run a cron task and check every hour if the item is back in stock.

hi can you confirm that a change in stock status via an inventory import (and not a manual item update or manual save) will trigger the back in stock email? also, we need to replace our existing out of stock subscription extension with something like yours but want to keep the style of our out of stock alert and subscribe form on product pages - is that possible? And would like to use the exiting back in stock email template... is that possible or do we need to re-create the template? (1.8 CE)

A:
Hi Ames, updating inventory via import is not being tracked by the Out Of Stock Notification, however it does support crons - so you are able to setup automatic checks and send notifications based on your preferences. With regards to the style on the product page - the style would need to be recreated; you can do it yourself since the extension code is not encrypted. If you would like professional support with this then please let us know and our support team will provide an estimate.

Hi Manesh, you are able to include the product name and a link to the product in the notification email. It is possible to incorporate additional attributes in the email but modifications would be needed.

Are notifications triggered by an item's stock status or its inventory level? We have an inventory threshold which will change an item's status to "out of stock" and would prefer notifications be sent at that point instead of when inventory reaches zero.

A:
Hi Doug, the notification's are triggered based on the product's status (In Stock / Out of Stock). In this case the extension should work according to your needs if you have an inventory threshold setup in your store to change a product's status depending on minimum inventory levels.

Vanny, modifying the Out of Stock to support subscribing from the category page is possible. Since each theme is unique, we can't provide an exact location for you to modify. Our support team is working with you directly to further clarify this for you.

A:
Akshoy, our Out of Stock Notification product only notifies the customer that the product is out of stock and provides the option for them to be notified once the product is returned to stock. Magento has a standard report you can generate to see low stock levels for your inventory.

does the customer still get notified if stock is updated via the import function of magento? I import thousands of items that come back into stock daily so customers need to be notified when this import is done

If the user is logged-in to their account then why do they need to enter their email address to be notified for the product? To make it easier, simply show 'Notify Me' button without having to enter the email address.
