Most merchants start looking for Magento support companies during a bad week. The developer who built the store has given notice, the agency has stopped answering, or the in-house architect who understood the ERP sync is leaving. Whoever you hire next has to take over a store it did not build without breaking checkout on the way in. If you already want to see how IWD handles that handover, our Magento support services page lays out the process.
This guide compares 12 companies with a current Magento Open Source or Adobe Commerce support offering. Every competitor fact was checked on the company's own website on October 29, 2026, and where a company does not publish something, we say "not published" instead of guessing. IWD Agency publishes this guide and ranks itself first for one specific buyer, a US merchant with an inherited, ERP-connected store. The decision framework names a competitor whenever a competitor fits better.

How to Judge a Magento Support Company
Score every candidate on these seven points before you compare prices.
- Takeover of a store it did not build. The first step should be an audit, not a ticket queue. Ask how the company confirms you own the code repository, hosting, credentials, extension licenses and backups, whether it tests that a backup restores, and what its written assessment looks like. A Magento code audit gets you that picture on its own before you commit.
- Patch and upgrade practice. Standard support for 2.4.6 ended August 11, 2026 (Adobe Commerce customers have extended support until August 31, 2027), and 2.4.7 standard support ends May 31, 2027. Ask how fast a critical patch reaches production, whether every patch goes through staging, and when your next upgrade is scheduled. Our Magento 2.4 end-of-support guide lists every date, and our security patching playbook covers the process.
- Response times you can hold them to. "Fast response" is not a commitment. Look for severity tiers with numbers attached and stated hours of coverage.
- Senior versus junior staffing. Inherited stores are where junior developers do the most damage, because the custom code is usually undocumented. Ask who will work on your store, by name and seniority.
- US presence and time zones. A store-down event at 9 a.m. Central needs someone awake. Check where your named engineers sit and how much of your day they overlap.
- B2B and ERP integration support. On a B2B store the ERP sync is usually the fragile part. Ask which ERPs the company has supported in production, by name. If the integration itself needs rebuilding, that is a Magento ERP integration project, not a support ticket.
- Pricing transparency and terms. Where prices are published, compare what is included (hosting, monitoring, patching, development hours) and the contract length, which ranges on this list from month to month to three years.

The 12 Best Magento Support Companies, Profiled
Every company below runs a current Magento Open Source or Adobe Commerce support offering, confirmed on its own website on October 29, 2026. Disclosure up front: IWD Agency publishes this guide and ranks itself first, and the decision framework recommends other companies by name where they beat us.
01. IWD Agency
Quick stats: Founded 2008 · Adobe Commerce (Magento) partner · Shopify Plus and BigCommerce practices · Senior Adobe-certified engineers, no junior bench · About 94% of clients stay after launch
Headquarters: Austin, Texas, and Barcelona, Spain.
Specialties: Taking over Magento Open Source and Adobe Commerce stores that another developer, agency or in-house architect built, especially B2B stores where the ERP is the system of record. Senior engineers handle fixes, security work, upgrades and the roadmap, with a dedicated team on the larger plans. Production ERP work includes Sage Intacct and Infor SyteLine (see our Infor ecommerce integration page).
Takeover process: Secure ownership of the code, hosting, credentials and backups, and confirm a backup restores. Write up what we inherit in plain language: version and support status, custom modules, security exposure, integrations and the root causes of the instability. Stabilize checkout, order flow and the ERP sync first, then plan the upgrade to a supported version. You keep full ownership of your code.
Response times and patching: Severity-based response times are written into the agreement. Every patch goes to staging first and deploys with a rollback plan. Critical patches target production within 72 hours, and high-severity patches within 14 days.
Published proof: Warner Press (an inherited, unstable Magento store, with Sage Intacct reconciliation extended), Daniels Manufacturing Corporation (an aerospace and defense tooling manufacturer on Adobe Commerce B2B with Infor SyteLine), Penn State Extension (moved off Magento 1 at end of life onto Adobe Commerce), Purdue Extension and School Fix.
Pricing: Published support plans start at $1,650 a month (10 hours at $165 an hour), with lower hourly rates on the 40, 80 and 160 hour plans. Month to month, with no long-term contract. See the plans on our Magento support services page.
Best for: US merchants whose developer or in-house architect is leaving, on a B2B or ERP-connected store that cannot afford broken orders during the handover. IronPlane and Rocket Web also publish prices if you want to compare.

Pricing: From $1,500 a month for 10 hours; extra work is quoted as time and materials. Hosting is not included. Contracts run one, two or three years.

What Magento Support Actually Costs
Several companies on this list publish their plans. The middle column is IWD's estimate of what each model typically costs; the right-hand column shows the published figures behind it.
| Support model | Typical monthly cost (IWD estimate) | Published examples on this list |
|---|---|---|
| Pay as you go | Hours used, no retainer | Scandiweb |
| Small block of about 10 hours | From about $1,500 a month (IronPlane's published HyperCare price) | IronPlane from $1,500; Forix and Magebit start at 10 hours |
| Managed care plan with response commitments | Typically $3,500 to $10,000 | Rocket Web at $3,500, $5,500 and $9,500 |
| Large hour blocks or a fractional team | Typically $10,000 and up | Rocket Web Partner at $14,500 |
| Takeover assessment (one time) | Typically free to a few thousand dollars | Free at IronPlane and Rocket Web; Forix values its free report at $2,000 |
| Rescue or stabilization project | Typically from about $3,500, then quoted | Rocket Web rescue from $3,500 |
What moves the number most: how far behind the store is, how many third-party extensions it carries, whether hosting is included, whether you need 24/7 coverage, and whether ERP support is in scope. Stabilization and upgrade work is usually quoted separately from the monthly plan. Our Magento upgrade services page explains how that work is scoped.
On Adobe Commerce Cloud, add one more date to the plan: Adobe has said that from June 1, 2027 it will stop maintaining Cloud environments on 2.4.4 and 2.4.5 and may suspend their traffic.
Decision Framework
Pick a Magento support company by your actual situation
Your developer or in-house architect is leaving, and the store is B2B with an ERP sync
IWD Agency. Ownership and a written assessment come first, then checkout, order flow and the ERP sync are stabilized before any roadmap work, on month-to-month terms. Choose Briteskies instead if the ERP is JD Edwards or runs on IBM i.
You want a published price before you take a sales call
IronPlane or Rocket Web. IronPlane starts at $1,500 a month for 10 hours on a one to three year term. Rocket Web publishes four flat plans from $3,500 to $14,500 a month. IWD's plans start at $1,650 a month for 10 hours, month to month.
You need response times in hours, in writing
Atwix. Critical issues in 1 hour, high priority in 4 and standard requests in 1 business day. Rocket Web if you want same-business-day emergency response at a published price.
Your store runs on NetSuite
Rocket Web. Its Partner plan includes NetSuite and ERP integration support, and it maintains its own open-source connector. Classy Llama if your integrations run through Celigo.
The last project stalled, or the launch went badly
Rocket Web, Wagento or Classy Llama. All three publish rescue work, and Rocket Web says it will tell you when a rebuild beats a rescue.
Your monthly need is small or uneven
Scandiweb for pay as you go with no monthly fee, Magebit for an hour bank where unused hours carry over, or Elogic Commerce if you would rather buy a fixed package.
You are on the West Coast and want no annual contract
Forix. A 10-hour monthly minimum, no yearly contract and 30 days' notice to stop.
You need overnight and weekend coverage before anything else
Krish Technolabs for a dedicated 24/7/365 team with a free 40-hour start, or IronPlane for 24/7/365 coverage from a US-headquartered company.
You are questioning the Adobe Commerce license, or Magento itself
IronPlane or Rocket Web if the question is the license: IronPlane reviews whether you need it, and Rocket Web migrates stores to Mage-OS. IWD Agency if the honest answer might be a different platform, since we also run Shopify Plus and BigCommerce practices.
Questions to Ask Every Magento Support Company
- Who holds my code repository, and how do I get it back if we part ways? You should own it, in writing, from day one.
- What do you deliver in the first two weeks of a takeover? Ask for a sample written assessment.
- What are your response times by severity, in hours, and which hours are covered?
- How fast does a critical security patch reach production, and does every patch go through staging? For reference, Atwix publishes 24 to 48 hours for patch deployment, Rocket Web 5 days from release, and IWD 72 hours for critical patches.
- When does my version lose support, and when will you schedule the upgrade? Expect a date.
- Who exactly works on my store, at what seniority, and will they stay on it?
- Which ERPs have you supported in production, by name? Ask for a reference on your ERP.
- What does the monthly fee include, do unused hours roll over, and what is the notice period?
How We Scored This List: Methodology
Six checks, applied to every company, including IWD:
- Current offering. A live Magento or Adobe Commerce support or maintenance page on the company's own site, checked October 29, 2026.
- Takeover evidence. A published audit or assessment step and a stated process for stores the company did not build.
- Patching and response. Published numbers scored above general claims.
- Pricing transparency. Published prices and terms scored above quote-only pricing.
- B2B and ERP depth. Named ERPs and named case studies scored above generic integration claims.
- US presence. A US office or stated US working hours.
Partner tiers, certification counts and team sizes are reported as each company states them. Two other US shops we reviewed did not publish enough about ongoing support to profile. Confirm every figure before you sign.
Disclosure: IWD Agency publishes this guide and ranks itself first by self-evaluation against these criteria, for the buyer described at the top. Where a competitor fits your situation better, the decision framework says so by name. If an entry is wrong or out of date, send us the source and we will re-check it.
Frequently asked questions
How much does Magento support cost per month?
Published plans on this list start at $1,500 a month for 10 hours (IronPlane HyperCare) and run to $14,500 a month for a fractional team with ERP support (Rocket Web Partner). Scandiweb offers pay as you go, and several companies sell blocks of 10 to 150 hours. Hosting may be extra (IronPlane's plan excludes it), and terms range from month to month to three years.
Can a new company take over a Magento store another developer built?
Yes, and it is one of the most common ways support starts. A safe takeover begins with ownership: confirm you control the repository, hosting, credentials, extension licenses and backups. Then get a written assessment of the version, custom modules, integrations and security exposure before anyone deploys a change. IWD, IronPlane, Rocket Web, Wagento and Classy Llama all describe takeover or rescue work.
What response times should a Magento support contract include?
Response times by severity, in hours, with the covered hours stated. As a reference point, Atwix publishes 1 hour for critical issues such as a site outage, 4 hours for high priority and 1 business day for standard requests. Ask for a patch commitment too: Atwix publishes patch deployment within 24 to 48 hours, Rocket Web applies patches within 5 days of release, and IWD targets 72 hours for critical patches and 14 days for high-severity ones.
Is my Magento version still getting security patches?
Check your release line against Adobe's lifecycle policy. The current version is 2.4.9. Standard support for 2.4.6 ended August 11, 2026, with extended support for Adobe Commerce until August 31, 2027, and 2.4.7 standard support ends May 31, 2027. Open Source stores should plan around the standard dates. Our Magento 2.4 end-of-support guide lists every release line.
Should I choose a US-based or offshore Magento support company?
It depends on when your store breaks and who has to work with the team. IWD, IronPlane, Rocket Web, Briteskies, Wagento, Forix and Classy Llama are headquartered in the US, and Atwix runs a Chicago office alongside a European office. Scandiweb, Magebit, Elogic and Krish Technolabs are headquartered in Europe or India; Scandiweb, Magebit and Krish advertise 24/7 coverage, and all four list a US office or phone line. Either way, confirm where your named engineers sit.
